Terms of Service

Last updated October 12, 2026

Merelingo is a place to study languages. Use it in good faith and these terms will never come up.

Using the service

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use Merelingo.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility. One account per person, and you need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

Your content

Your notebooks and pages are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them and show them back to you, and nothing more. We do not claim ownership and we will not sell or publish your notebooks (or train AI with them).

Contributions to the shared language and dictionary data work differently: they are public, other people can build on them, and they stay part of the community data even if you close your account. Only contribute what you are happy to share on those terms.

Fair use

Please do not:

  • Post unlawful content, or content you have no right to post.
  • Harass other people, or spam the shared data.
  • Create content in bulk with scripts, or work around the limits on your plan.
  • Attack, overload or probe the service, or try to reach other people's accounts.

Limits

We currently limit resource creation. We may adjust current limits on resource use as the service grows. If we ever lower a limit, we will not delete anything you have already made because of it.

Availability

Merelingo is early software, provided as is and as available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of bugs, and features may change or go away. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Ending things

You can stop using Merelingo whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks the fair use rules above, or where we have to in order to protect the service or other users.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Merelingo is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will update the date above and say so in the app. Continuing to use Merelingo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
