What We Store

  • Account. An email address, or an OAuth provider (Discord) account identifier if you sign in with one. Plus the username you pick, and a bio or avatar if you add one.
  • Language Data. The languages you add to learning and the proficiency you set for each, including a cookie for your ‘focus language’ (see below).
  • Learning Data. Tracks progress in things like lessons plans, flashcards, and whatever else needs to be recorded to pick up where you leave off and view your progress.
  • Personal Resources. Your notebooks, sections and pages, and anything else you own.
  • Shared Resources. anything you contribute to the shared resources like language and dictionary data, etc.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for anything else.

What We Do Not Do

We keep the least we can get away with and still run your account.

  • We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • We do not run advertising, and we set no advertising cookies.
  • We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

Two, both are functional. There are no third-party or advertising cookies.

  1. Keeps you signed in (the important one).
  2. Remembers which language you select as your ‘focus’

Analytics

We measure page views and page performance through Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. It is aggregate and cookie-less: it records that a page was visited, not who visited it, and it is not tied to your account or used to profile you.

Who else touches your data

We run on other people's infrastructure, so these providers necessarily process data on our behalf. We do not share your data with anyone else.

  • Supabase — database and sign-in.
  • Vercel — hosting and the analytics mentioned above.
  • Upstash — short-lived counters. Stop one account flooding the service.
  • OAuth Providers — only if you choose to sign in with one (e.g. Discord), but obviously they already have your info if you chose to signin with them.

Personal Resources

Your content is yours. Things like notebooks and pages are yours to edit, modify or delete whenever you like. Anything you move to the trash is recoverable for 30 days and is then permanently deleted.

Shared Resources

Contributions to shared resources like language and dictionary data are considered public entities by design and stay part of the community data even if you later close your account.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and say so in the app rather than quietly editing the page.
