Adding Languages Guide
Welcome to the Language Creation Guide! This guide will walk you through the steps and best practices for creating a new language in MereLingo.
There are a couple key features you will need to know in order to create a new language on MereLingo:
Native Name Required
The native name of the language is what it has for itself.
English Name Required
The English name is the name of the language in English.
ISO Code Required
The ISO code is the standardized code for the language, if available. This helps with identification and categorization.

Status Required
The status indicates current state of the language. This helps users understand the current state of the language.
Modern
A modern language is one that is currently spoken and used by a community of speakers.
Ancient
An ancient language is one that was spoken in the past but is actively studied and used in some contexts.
Conlang
A conlang (constructed language) is a language that has been intentionally created by individuals or groups, rather than evolving naturally.
Country Code Optional
The country code represents the primary country or region where the language is spoken. This helps users identify the geographical context of the language.
Flag Emoji Optional
The flag emoji is a visual representation of the country or region associated with the language. It adds a visual element to the language listing. It is a fallback in case a country code is not available.
Description Optional
The description is a brief overview of the language. It can include information about the language's history, cultural significance, and any other relevant details. Pages will be created for each language later, so you don't need to include everything here.
